A public meeting for International Women’s Day, organised by Momentum Internationalists
Speakers include Nadia Whittome, MP for Nottingham East. Others tbc
A meeting to support our sisters and brothers fighting for justice and equality in India.
Narendra Modi’s neo-liberal, Hindu-nationalist regime is being shaken by mass farmers’ protests against its pro-corporate agricultural reforms – protests which are mobilising hundreds of thousands, women as well as men, and building new solidarities across divisions of religion, caste and region. It is responding with heavy repression.
Nodeep Kaur, a young, Dalit trade unionist sacked from her factory job for supporting the farmers, has been arrested on trumped up charges for organising workers to demand their rights. Denied bail, she has been beaten and assaulted in jail.
Join us to learn about and support our comrades’ struggle in India –
and to demand the release of Nodeep Kaur, her union comrade Shiv Kumar, climate activist Disha Ravi and the thousands of others jailed there for fighting for justice and liberation.
